Unemployment rates across west Kentucky and the Commonwealth remain mostly unchanged from last month.
The rate is currently at 4 percent for May 2019, slightly higher than the national rate at 3.4 percent.
The Purchase region’s rate is at 4.3 percent, with the highest being in Fulton County at 5.1 percent. Ballard County went from 7.3 percent in 2018 to 5 percent in 2019. The lowest rate in the Purchase region is Carlisle County at 3.6 percent.
The Pennyrile region unemployment is at 4.7 percent. Muhlenberg County has the highest rate with 5.9 percent. Todd County has the lowest at 3.5 percent.
Woodford County has the lowest rate in Kentucky at 2.9 percent, while Magoffin County has the highest at 9.9 percent.
