Alhambra Theatre presents Fisk Jubilee Singers
The FISK JUBILEE SINGERS are an American acappella ensemble comprised of students at Fisk University in Nashville, TN, who sing and travel worldwide. They perform Negro spirituals originally sung by slaves before the Civil War.
The founding group of singers arranged the music and took it on the road, beginning in 1871, introducing the public to a new genre that remains a vibrant musical tradition today. They will perform in Hopkinsville on MLK Day 2025.
