In 1989, a Cuban professor of Russian Literature is summoned to a hospital to translate for an unexpected group of patients: Soviet children dying of radiation poisoning after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. His involvement with the hospital strains his family life as Cuba enters its challenging post-Soviet “Special Period.” Based on the life of the directors’ father. Presented as part of the Spanish Film Club series with the support of Pragda and the Secretary of State for Culture of Spain.
