Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month is observed in March to highlight the importance of screening for colorectal cancer, as well as to promote healthy lifestyle habits that can decrease a person's risk of developing cancer of the colon, rectum, or anus. The Kentucky Cancer Program hosts a variety of awareness programs in March.

The KCP hosts the Incredible Colon at Washington Street Missionary Baptist Church Christian Life Center, 721 Washington Street, Paducah. Mercy Health Lourdes will host a Lunch and Learn with gastroenterologist Lingaiah Chandrashekar, MD, on colon cancer, colonoscopy screenings, and more. The Lunch and Learn will be provided free first come, first serve to the 50 guests.
