Set over the course of a single day, La Cocina explores the inner workings of a Times Square restaurant at the turn of the 21st Century, where a stolen bag of cash complicates the secret romance between a Mexican line worker and an American waitress. This wildly inventive film is also a multilingual exploration of labor, language, and dreams—American or otherwise.
