National Quilt Museum's Candy Cane Hunt 2023

National Quilt Museum's Candy Cane Hunt 2023

Paducah Parks & Recreation's annual award-winning Candy Cane Hunt will be Saturday, December 2. This event for kids ages 10 and younger will be held on the lawn of the National Quilt Museum, 215 Jefferson Street. Registration begins on site at 11:45 a.m for this free event where children ages 10 and under race to find candy canes. This year there will be approximately 5,000 candy canes divided up amongst the three age groups.

The hunts will be at the following times:

12:30 p.m. for ages 3 & under

12:45 p.m. for ages 4-6

1:00 p.m. for ages 7-10

Kids can also take part in the Yeiser Art Center Coloring Contest anytime from noon until 1:15 p.m. They can color their sheet on site and turn it in before leaving or turn it in to the Yeiser Art Center before 5 p.m. that day. Winners will be announced the week after the event with prizes for the winning entries.

The National Quilt Museum will also be offering free admission to children under 12 following the event.

For the safety of the participants, 2nd Street will be closed to traffic between Jefferson and Monroe Street. We encourage participants to park at the downtown Farmers' Market parking lot with the entrance on the intersection of 2nd and Monroe.

We'd like to thank our partners for this year's event: Banterra Bank, The National Quilt Museum, and Yeiser Art Center.
