To celebrate Earth Day 2024 and promote regional biodiversity, the Watershed Studies Institute, the Departments of Biological Sciences and Art, and the Murray Art Guild are working together to sponsor the Second Annual Open Juried Biodiversity-themed Art Exhibition, Nature: The Beauty of Diversity, during April 2024. The goal of this collaborative event is to highlight biodiversity at multiple scales across and within species and ecosystems and to promote biodiversity appreciation in the region and beyond through various creative art forms.
The exhibit will be on display in the Biology Atrium on Murray State University's main campus from April 12 to April 25. There will be a public reception on April 25 from 5 to 6 pm.
A self-taught artist and cabinet maker from Fulton, Kentucky, Henderson was an artist with a disability whose paintings and carved birds of the southern United States won accolades and fans among art collectors and others.
