Illinois Committee Promotes College Degrees

Illinois educators and officials are looking for ways to boost the state's college graduation rate. Officials want 60 percent of adults in Illinois to have some sort of college degree or career certificate by 2025.

Right now, only around 41 percent do. The Illinois Student Assistance Commission is promoting the goal under the label "College Changes Everything." The commission is organizing a conference today for college administrators, high school leaders, counselors and state officials. They're studying how to prepare students for college and keep them once they’ve enrolled.
