Ron Clark to Speak at Annual MSU College and Career Readiness Summit

 Murray State is anticipating a high turnout for the upcoming College and Career Readiness Summit where a nationally recognized educator and bestselling author will give a presentation.

Ron Clark is the founder of the Ron Clark Academy, an Atlanta-based school that works with disadvantaged children. His book ‘The Essential 55’ has sold more than a million copies and he has appeared on CNN and The Today Show.

 

Kentucky education commissioner Stephen Pruitt and assessment and accountability associate commissioner Rhonda Simms will also speak at the June 14 event. Veteran educators Debbie Silver and Sharon Faber will also give presentations. Some 1,200 educators from around the region are expected to attend.

 

Some 124 training sessions the day prior focus on student engagement, personalized learning techniques and new technologies.
