Trigg County Public Schools Superintendent Resigns

Trigg County Schools

The superintendent of Trigg County Schools announced Thursday he is resigning to become superintendent of Allen County Schools farther east.

Travis Hamby said in a letter to the school board he is “extremely appreciative” of his experiences in his 12 years of service.

School Board Chair Jo Alyce Harper said the search for a new superintendent will most likely begin at next week’s school board meeting.

“We want to make absolutely sure that we find someone who fits in with our beliefs and our goals for the school district,” Harper said.

Harper said it could take until the fall to find a permanent superintendent because of the time-consuming interview process. Hamby’s resignation is effective July 1.

Hamby joined the school district in 2007 as assistant superintendent of operations and personnel.
