Murray State Enrollment Up For Second Straight Year
Murray State University reported this week a 4.2% increase of entering freshman for the Fall 2020 semester. This marks the second straight year of freshman class growth.
According to Murray State’s online publication “Blue & Gold”, Murray State University President Bob Jackson said the growth in numbers is due to the efforts made to enhance student recruiting and retention.
“Our work and focus on student recruiting, retention, scholarships and financial aid initiatives coupled with telling our story to students and families are making a difference,” Jackson said. “Most importantly, I am grateful for our students who have chosen a high-quality, nationally-ranked institution.”
New graduate and transfer student numbers also reflect an increase from the previous fall at 7.6% and 20%, respectively.
The last time the university had consecutive years of growth was 2011 and 2012. The official 2020-21 final enrollment report will be completed in October 2020.
