The U.S. Coast Guard has removed the damaged barge that leaked slurry oil into the Mississippi River last week and is continuing with cleanup efforts.

Traffic restrictions were also removed Tuesday. A section of the river was shut down after a tow boat collision last Wednesday night dumped over 120,000 gallons of oil into the waterway.

The Coast Guard first said it was unsure it could clean up the spilled oil because it sank. They now say they’re making preparations to remove the submerged oil at the incident site.

An investigation into the cause of the tow boat collision is ongoing.
