Original Story:

Rainy weather continues on Monday as the region recovers from bouts of intense storms over the weekend. The National Weather Service in Paducah is planning two damage surveys across the region Monday, assessing the Sunday storms and possible tornadoes.

Additional surveys are possible later this week.

One swath of damage extended from Bardwell to south of Paducah and northeast into Livingston County. A second corridor extended just south of the first one, with damage along the Carlisle/Hickman County border, continuing across northern Graves County and Marshall County into Land Between The Lakes. Numerous trees and power lines were downed, leaving many without power over the weekend.

Storms Friday night also brought widespread damage and two reported fatalities. The fatalities were blamed on strong winds. One occurred on the Current River in Carter County, Missouri. The second occurred in Pulaski County, Illinois. Both were due to trees falling on victims. Other injuries due to falling trees were also reported in Pulaski County.

Damage surveys found two tornadoes in Christian County on Friday. An EF-1 was located near Gracey. This one struck at 6:31 p.m. and had estimated peak winds at 100 miles per hour. Another EF-1 was located near Herndon. This one struck at 6:38 p.m. and had estimated peak winds at 105 miles per hour. The latter damaged 8 to 10 homes, primarily roofing.

Parts of Kentucky Dam Marina suffered wind damage on Friday. Numerous trees and power lines were reported down.
