The mayor of a Henderson County town suggests new leaders consider dissolution. Corydon Mayor Hilda McCormic says financial issues that plague the city of about 700 people would be difficult to rectify since current officials cannot find past financial records. The lack of records shows that the city has not had an audit since 2010. Mayoral candidate and councilman Philip Brewster Jr. says dissolving the city would be a last resort. If elected he said he would address the financial problems before dissolution. McCormic became interim mayor in July after the City Council ousted former Mayor Larry Thurby. She will step down when residents elect a new mayor Nov. 6. Brewster is up against Paul Echols and Jack Horton Jr. for mayor.
