Today Is the Deadline for Princeton Package Store License Apps

Six applicants wait to hear if they get one of Princeton’s two package liquor store licenses. Kentucky’s Alcohol Beverage Control laws limit the city’s quota to two based on its size. Princeton ABC Administrator Brent Thompson says today is the deadline for individuals to submit package liquor license requests. Thompson says at least seven convenience stores have applied for beer licenses, and St. Andrew’s Room at the Princeton Country Club has put in a request for a liquor by the drink license. There is no quota limit on those licenses. Thompson says state ABC site inspectors have not visited the city yet. He says once ABC officials receive an application, they have 30 to 60 days to review it.

The city of Princeton voted in August to go from dry to wet.
