Congressman Ed Whitfield (R-01) will vote in favor of a bipartisan Senate plan that will reopen the U.S. Government and increase the U.S. debt limit.

Whitfield said the House will consider the legislation later this evening.  He says the government will be funded through January 15 and the debt ceiling will be raised until February 7.

“…and the House of Representatives and the United States Senate will go to conference to negotiate budget reforms so that we can continue to reduce spending and get our fiscal house in order,” Whitfield said. “While I will vote in favor of this legislation, make no mistake, I remain committed to fighting the devastating impacts of Obamacare as they become more evident in the months ahead.”

Whitfield said the country’s budget process is broken and in dire need of reform.
