President Barack Obama has signed a disaster declaration for 15 counties in Illinois after severe storms and tornadoes struck the state.
Obama signed the declaration yesterday, ordering federal aid for the areas affected after the November 17 storms.
Federal assistance that's made available can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs and low-cost loans for uninsured property losses.
Obama's action makes federal funding available to Champaign, Douglas, Fayette, Grundy, Jasper, La Salle, Massac, Pope, Tazewell, Vermilion, Wabash, Washington, Wayne, Will, and Woodford counties.
