The Interstate 69 project continues to move forward as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has awarded another contract to bring an interchange in Hopkins County up to Interstate standards.
Road Builders LLC won the $14.04 million contract to rebuild the interchange in Mortons Gap. The interchange will be converted to a diamond shape to accommodate traffic moving at higher speeds. Work on five other I-69 exits is either complete or in progress.
Thus far, 55 miles of the I-69 corridor are complete, from Nortonville to Calvert City. The remaining portion between Henderson and the Western Kentucky Parkway is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year.
