Kentucky Lottery President and CEO Arch Gleason will retire next month.
A statement from the agency says Gleason announced his plans in a letter to the Kentucky Lottery board of directions, saying he made the decision "after significant thought and reflection."
Gleason says his last day will be July 29.
He has served in the position for nearly 23 years. June Hudson, chairman of the Lottery board of directors, says under Gleason's leadership, Kentucky lottery
sales have grown to nearly $1 billion a year. Gleason says the lottery is one of the most successful in the country and has provided billions of dollars for education over the years.
Gov. Matt Bevin will appoint Gleason's successor.
