The Tennessee Valley Authority says its chief operating officer will retire at the end of the year.
Chip Pardee has been at TVA since 2013.
During his time at TVA, he made improvements to the power generation fleet and the operations team, helping to cut plant pollution and reduce utility rates.
TVA says Pardee will work with CEO Bill Johnson to transition Pardee’s responsibilities over the coming the months. The utility hasn’t said when a replacement will be hired.
TVA is the nation’s largest public utility, serving approximately 9 million people in 7 states.
