A former Murray City Council member has filed as a write-in candidate for this year’s election. Twelve candidates will appear on November’s ballot for the twelve-member council, so Jane Brandon’s candidacy creates some uncertainty in the race.
Brandon has served multiple non-consecutive terms on the council and has run unsuccessfully in the last three elections.
Wesley Bolin and John Mark Roberts are the newcomers on the ballot, with incumbents Butch Seargent and Greg Taylor not seeking re-election. Bolin has already been sworn in to the council following Taylor’s early departure.
The deadline for write-in candidates to file is Friday, October 28 at 4 p.m.
