Capital Plaza Tower in Frankfort Set for Implosion

The tallest building in Kentucky's capital is set for demolition. 

The Finance and Administration Cabinet said in a release on Tuesday the Capital Plaza Tower implosion is set for March 11 at 1:30 p.m.

CRM, D.W. Wilburn #2 is the company developing and constructing the Capital Plaza redevelopment project. They have contracted with Controlled Demolition Inc. for the demolition.

State officials have said the 28-story building is falling apart. The plaza has housed state agencies and private businesses since 1972. The tower is 338 feet tall.
