Former Republican State Rep. Imes Elected As Calloway Co. Judge/Executive

LRC Public Information

Former Republican State Rep. Kenny Imes has been elected as Calloway County Judge/Executive. Imes beat Democratic candidate James Gallimore by a margin of 3,000 votes as well as independent Bill Marcum and Vincent Costello of the Veterans Party of America.

Republican Gov. Matt Bevin appointed Imes to the position this fall after longtime judge/executive Larry Elkins retired.  Imes said at a forum in October that he supports expanding the Calloway County Public Library, particularly the children’s area -- and making it more secure.

Imes expressed concern for the opioid epidemic and said there should be more collaborative efforts to combat it. He also supports Work Ready Initiatives and companies moving into the county.
