Calloway County Judge/Executive Kenny Imes has appointed Gina Winchester of Murray as Deputy Judge/Executive. She starts January 1st.
Winchester previously served as the Customer Services Director for the Kentucky Department of Parks. She has also served in leadership roles at Murray State University. Imes in a release credited her experience and connections.
The Deputy Judge is responsible for fulfilling the duties of the County Judge/Executive in an absence, except for presiding over Fiscal Court meetings and performing marriages. Imes said, day to day, Winchester will assist him on projects, attend meetings and “act as an extension of myself.”
Bill Marcum is no longer serving as deputy judge executive, according to Imes. He said Marcum served in a part-time capacity. Treasurer Tonya Robinson said Marcum was paid $15 an hour. Imes said Marcum was not paid out of the general fund. He said he has spoken with other judge-executives about salary ranges for the position but hasn’t yet set details.
