Modernized bus fleets and facilities and passenger safety enhancements are coming to communities across Kentucky.

The Federal Transit Administration awarded $7 million in grants to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet as part of a national effort to improve bus transit services.

In the west Kentucky region, the Fulton County Transit Authority is receiving more than $450,000 for 10 vehicles and $400,000 for the purchase and renovation of an administrative facility.

Pennyrile Allied Community Services is receiving $285,000 for six vehicles and the Paducah Transit Authority is receiving $850,000 for two vehicles.
