Governor Andy Beshear confirmed 816 new cases of coronavirus in Kentucky. He said today’s numbers were a “tough report, all the way around” and included 116 new cases among people under 18 years of age.
Beshear said 12 of those children are in Warren County, and Marshall and Graves counties have one juvenile case each. He reported 18 new deaths today, bringing the total over the past three days to 36 deaths.
In long-term care facilities, Beshear said 64 new residents and 42 new staff members have tested positive. He also said facilities confirmed four new residents deaths. Four new facilities also had at least one case associated with them.
Beshear said in K-12 schools, 33 new students and 12 new faculty and staff members tested positive. He reported 26 schools have at least one case associated with them.
He said 137 new students and two new faculty or staff members at Kentucky colleges and universities have tested positive. These numbers come from institutions that have already reported cases associated with them.
