WKCTC Donating PPE To Regional Hospitals, To Use 3D Printers To Make Face Shield Parts

West Kentucky Community & Technical College via Facebook

West Kentucky Community and Technical College is donating personal protective equipment to regional hospitals in west Kentucky.

Vice President of Workforce and Economic Development Kevin O’Neill said the PPE includes gowns, gloves and face masks from the college’s Allied Health and nursing programs. He said Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs Renea Akin was responsible for the coordination of the donation to emergency services in McCracken County. This donation includes 400 N95 face masks.

O’Neill said WKCTC will also be able to help supply a component needed in face shields.

“We have 3D printers at the college as do many of our sister colleges so we’re going to be working to print those," he said.

O’Neill said emergency services will distribute the PPE to hospitals in WKCTC’s service region.
