Frankfort, KY – The White House has released details on the local impact of the nearly 800-billion dollar economic stimulus plan that President Obama signed Tuesday. The president's economic advisors say the stimulus package will create or preserve 48-thousand jobs in Kentucky over the next two years. Governor Beshear says there's nothing Kentucky needs more than that.
"I'm going to use it to create jobs for our people. That's really what we've got to do is get our people back to work, get them to be getting a paycheck every week so that they'll go and spend money in our retail stores and get our economy moving again."
The democratic governor also says he's counting on a big part of the stimulus plan to fund various road and bridge projects across the Commonwealth.
