Paris, TN – Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew will be giving away fruits and vegetables grown by inmates at the county's jail starting tomorrow. The Sheriff's Department will give away the produce every Wednesday through September 23. Belew says although he believes selling the produce would generate good revenue for county, state law prohibits it. Tomorrow's giveaway takes place at the Puryear Volunteer Fire Department from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
Giveaways will be done from 3-6 p.m. on the following days:
Aug. 5 and Sept. 2, Puryear Volunteer Fire Department
Aug. 12 and Sept. 9, Henry City Hall
Aug. 19 and Sept. 16, Security Bank branch on Highway 79 northeast of Paris
Aug. 26 and Sept. 23, Oakland Volunteer Fire Department
