Paducah's Potential Multi-Use Sports Complex
By Chris Taylor
Paducah, KY – Paducah and McCracken County may soon be purchasing a land option to build a multi-use public sports complex. If the project is built, however, depends on at least $1 million in private donations coming through. Paducah parent and soccer advocate David Hutcheson presented the area's need for a new soccer facility at yesterday's city commission meeting. He says the McCracken County Soccer Complex has too few fields, no lighting, inadequate parking, irrigation problems, and no restrooms. Commissioners and Mayor Bill Paxton expressed interest in the project, but also cited concerns about costs. Hutcheson says Paducah is being left behind by other cities with similar facilities.
