Paducah, KY – Reidland-Farley Fire Chief Richard Tapp is on unpaid medical leave for an undisclosed illness. Tapp recently filed for medical leave, which could last up to 12 weeks. The fire district trustees suspended Tapp without pay last month, saying he has used all of his vacation time. The Paducah Sun reports Tapp has worked only a few days since mid-November. He told reporters he was being treated for stress. Trustees say they plan to file for Tapp's dismissal. There is no word on when the charges might be filed.
