Commissioners Hear Potential of Improving Outlaw Field

By Chris Taylor

Clarksville, TN – Montgomery County, Tennessee commissioners heard mention of an aircraft modification company's reported interested in locating to Outlaw Field. Airport Authority Chairman Ron Whitford and County Mayor Carolyn Bowers say recruiting the business is still preliminary, but it shows the potential benefits of improving the airport. If the company does locate there, it would bring as many as 200 high-paying jobs to Clarksville. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports commissioners must decide whether or not to provide $625,000 in matching funds for a federal grant that would construct a new terminal and improve the runway at Outlaw Field.
