Millwood Case a Possible Redo

By Angela Hatton

Murray, KY – The attorney for a former Murray State University student-teacher accused of a sex crime has filed a motion that could reset the case. Drew Millwood previously pled guilty to sexual misconduct. He allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old Calloway County student when he was a student teacher. Millwood's attorney Ricky Lamkin has filed a motion to vacate that plea. Lamkin says he learned that the Kentucky statute prohibits a pretrial diversion in this kind of case. The matter could be decided Monday at a hearing with Circuit Judge Dennis Foust. If the judge rules in favor of the motion, Lamkin says the case would be back at square one, and could go to trial.
