Regional Education Summit Grows This Year

By Angela Hatton

Hopkinsville, KY – Three counties will be participating in an education summit in Hopkinsville tomorrow. Christian County Public Schools Communications Director Regan Honeycutt says this is the third annual education summit hosted in the county. Kentucky Public Education Commissioner Terry Holliday and well-known educational speaker Anthony Muhammad will participate. Part of this year's focus is closing the achievement gap between middle class and low-income students. Honeycutt says officials are expanding the summit's scope this year to include Todd and Trigg counties. Officials hope expanding the summit will improve the region's economic status through better public education. The event is free and open to the public.
