Contractor Hiring Bill Passes House

By AP

Frankfort, KY – The Kentucky House has passed a bill aimed at deterring government contractors from hiring undocumented workers. The bill now heads to the Senate. The proposal would require contractors with state and local governments and school districts to participate in federal employment verification programs. Bill sponsor Representative Bob Damron says contractors caught violating the measure could be prohibited from winning government contracts for five years.
