Clarksville, TN – Many area school systems will have to make up the still accumulating amount of snow days they're taking. Clarksville-Montgomery County School System had planned for only three snow days this school year, but as of yesterday has used seven. School Spokesperson Elise Shelton tells the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle school officials will have some interesting options to recommend to the School Board today. Not only do officials have to consider how to make up the time for students with options like classes on Saturday or extended hours, but they also must consider how the added time will affect the system's almost 2,000 teachers. Teachers often must complete professional development training sometime during the school year. Many area schools had planned to make up a snow day on yesterday's holiday, but were instead closed for snow.
