Western Baptist Spends 9.2 Million on Expansion

By Angela Hatton

Paducah, KY – Western Baptist Hospital plans to spend over nine million dollars on an addition to the Baptist Imaging Center. Seven million of that goes toward buying new imaging equipment, including mammography and a new PET CT scan system. Officials say the PET CT upgrade will allow for scans seven days a week, rather than the previous five. The center is expected to treat as many as 175 outpatients per day. Communications Director Angie Kinsey says the hospital also plans to fill new positions, but officials aren't sure yet how many they will need. The expansion is set for completion in June.
