Paducah, KY – A committee studying a proposed merger between Paducah and McCracken County governments doesn't expect to present a recommendation until next year. The Paducah Sun reports the committee must have the report by August 2011 at the latest. Members are consulting with representatives from Louisville and Lexington, both of which have merged with their counties. McCracken County Judge Executive Van Newberry says the biggest question is whether the committee will recommend a full merger or a partial merger of some services. Voters would make the final decision during the general election in November 2011.
