Madisonville, KY – Murray, Madisonville and Owensboro will share $150,000 in federal grant money to restore and remove trees damaged during the 2009 ice storm. State Urban Forestry Coordinator Sarah Gracey says a team will first reassess damage findings from a year ago, prioritize prunings and removals and in the final phase, will plant new trees. Madisonville City Administrator Mike Franklin tells the Madisonville Messenger the funding is a real shot in the arm for because most of the city's money was spent refurbishing the electrical infrastructure, which was just finished last month.
