Frankfort, KY – Natural gas provider Atmos Energy Corporation has agreed to reduce its proposed rate hike. Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway's office has entered into a preliminary settlement with the utility that reduces the increase to six million dollars. That's down from Atmos' original request of over nine million dollars. Atmos serves 180-thousand customers in 38 Kentucky counties. The Public Service Commission must still approve the settlement at a hearing later this spring.
