Paducah, KY – McCracken County Sheriff Jon Hayden is concerned a convicted felon wanted by police was found with two radios capable of receiving and transmitting messages on the low-band frequencies used by law enforcement. Those radios were owned by the Reidland-Farley Fire Department and assigned to suspended fire chief Richard Tapp Sr. who was thought to have turned in all his equipment. Police arrested his son, 31-year-old Richard Tapp, Jr Friday on parole violations. Sheriff Hayden tells the Paducah Sun it's dangerous when someone can monitor officers' movement, allowing them to hide, plan an ambush or simply interfere with communications.
