Hopkinsville, KY – The Christian County Fiscal Court has loaned the Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority money to get a sewage project in Oak Grove going. The fiscal court this week approved a $500,000 loan. Large-scale development work in Oak Grove had stalled because of a lack of water and sewage infrastructure. Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says the money will pay to build a line that will pump sewage back toward the plant in Hopkinsville. Officials say this is only a temporary fix. A $7.5 million water infrastructure project will provide a permanent system for the area. Tribble says it will likely take several years to complete. Development in the area includes an Oak Grove Village mall and three hotels.
