Madisonville, KY – A judge has ruled Hopkins County Magistrate Wesley Lynn will be tried separately for two sex crime indictments. Lynn was indicted in 2009 for sexual abuse, rape, and sodomy. He was also indicted in 2008 for sexual assault and harassment. The Madisonville Messenger reports a total of seven women have accused Lynn of sexual misconduct during his tenure as a paramedic at the Regional Medical Center. Commonwealth's Attorney Lynn Pryor had sought to get the two cases tried together, but Lynn's attorneys argued the cases were not similar enough. The judge last week sided with the defense, and scheduled Lynn's first trial appearance in July. Lynn is serving his first term as magistrate, and is seeking re-election.
