Frankfort, KY – The Kentucky Senate has passed a bill that would impose a 1.5 percent tax on phone and online bets that Kentuckians place on horse races. Under the proposal, money collected from the tax on advance deposit wagers would flow into a fund that increases prizes at Kentucky tracks. The bill passed on a 21-17 vote today. It now returns to the House, which passed its own version that imposed a lower tax on those wagers.
