Kentucky Honors Hometown of Robert Penn Warren

Guthrie, KY – Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Bill Cunningham and Governor Steve Beshear presented highway signs marking the city of Guthrie in Todd County as the birthplace of poet Robert Penn Warren. The signs will placed north of Guthrie on US-68. Beshear told a gathering in front of Warren's childhood home, the poet left an imprint on the world of literature that will forever mark his place in history. Beshear also presented a $600,000 check to the city to establish a museum and welcome center.
