Washington D.C. – The White House says by academic year 2020, the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act is expected to provide more than $480 million to Kentucky and $657 million to Tennessee in additional benefits for higher education, which include handing out more Pell Grants due to the changes in the new law. The legislation also includes extra funds for historically black and minority-serving colleges over the next decade, as well as funds to help attract low-income students and help them manage their college loan debts.
