Madisonville, KY – A Madisonville businessman is considering a bid to unseat Hopkins County Judge-Executive Donnie Carroll. The Madisonville Messenger reports Dan McGary filed a statement of candidacy this week. McGary says he may run as an independent. He last ran as a Republican against Senator Jerry Rhoads in 2006, but lost that election. Carroll is running unopposed in the May 18 Democratic Party primary. He was first elected in 2007.
