Paducah, KY – Two Paducah physicians are turning away patients who use Medicare, saying it's too expensive to treat them. WPSD-TV reports Dr. Luis Concepcion and Dr. James Gould of Oncology Associates of West Kentucky turned away as many as 30 cancer patients yesterday. They explain the firm can't afford to give out expensive drugs and not be paid within 30 days. Gould blames Congress and says lawmakers failed to act on a permanent fix to the way Medicare reimburses doctors.
