Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear and the Cabinet for Economic Development officials announced the expansion of the Kentucky Micro Enterprise Loan Program today. The program provides financing up to thirty-five thousand dollars for small businesses and entrepreneurs that otherwise would find it difficult to get a loan. Until now many Western Kentucky counties did not have access to micro loans. The funding comes from a one-time state allocation of 125 thousand-dollars from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority. The non-profit Community Ventures Corporation administers the funds.
