Paducah, KY – As many as sixteen non-profits pitched for funding at Paducah's City Commission meeting yesterday. The groups included many local athletic, artistic, humanitarian and youth organizations either seeking first-time or continued funding. Mayor Bill Paxton says the city budget is running tight this year and urges the groups to also petition the County. He also calls on the public to donate. The Paducah Sun reports many of the non-profits rely on federal and state funding, but several have seen those contributions either reduced or eliminated.
